If you want to use hypnosis for birth it is best to attend a class which trains in how to master these techniques.
Below is a step by step guide of the components and how to use the CD.
Hypnosis is the KEY to Birthing Naturally
WHY
Hypnosis is the perfect bridge into the natural trance of labor.
All mammal mothers are drawn into a deep amnesiac condition created by the neuropeptides in the brain and pituitary gland called endorphins.
Endorphins are 200 times more effective than morphine with no side-effects.
The human body naturally provides birthing women with all the pain medication required for the intensity of labor.
Basic physiology comprehensively supports the process of birth if it is allowed to function as nature intended.
Hypnosis pulls the practitioner into the slower cycling alpha and theta brain waves which lie beneath the cognitive functions of the frontal lobes (beta brain waves).
Hypnosis links mind, body and spirit.
HOW
Hypnosis works simultaneously on three levels:
Body, Mind and Spirit to create the perfect bridge into the natural trance of labor.
Hypnosis RELAXES the body.
Relaxation: Labor is managed by the parasympathetic nervous system. For the process to function correctly relaxation is imperative. The Fear-Tension-Pain Syndrome, first understood over 100 years ago is universally recognized by midwifery and obstetrics alike. It was discovered by Grantly Dick-Read MD in the early 20th century after observing thousands of mothers give birth. Fear creates tension and tension creates pain—like a revolving wheel increased fear leads to more pain. Originally a theory based on observation only in the later part of the 20th century, science has now quantified how a flood of adrenaline impacts labor by triggering the fight or flight instinct. No mammal mother will birth easily if she does not feel safe.
Hypnosis REPROGRAMS the mind.
Reprogramming: Hypnosis reaches into the subconscious mind. Sometimes called “the other 90% of the mind” we are often controlled and influenced by unconscious beliefs held there. This reprogramming of the subconscious mind is called Post-Hypnotic Suggestion. This makes hypnosis very effective with addiction, phobias and pain management. The conscious cognitive mind cannot reason its way out of fear and compulsions buried deep in the subconscious. By dipping below the rational mind with hypnosis the belief system can be changed at a core level releasing the practitioner from its influence.
In America we have been taught that birth is dangerous, inherently flawed and unbearably painful. This is simply not true. Birth can be an emotionally fulfilling and spiritually satisfying experience for mother, father and child.
Hypnosis RESTORES the connection to your spiritual core.
Restore: Hypnosis creates a bridge to the supra-conscious which is buried in the depths of the mind. The supra-conscious is our spiritual core. Our spiritual core is connected to infinite wells of strength, love, courage, inspiration and divine purpose. Birth touches a universal life mystery. A unique new human being, a new mother, a new father and a new family are participating in the miracle of creation. Step into the wonder!
How does a modern 21st century woman turn off her neocortex or rational brain and surrender to the process?
Learning to enter into a hypnotic trance is easy. It is a skill anyone can master with practice.
5 Easy Steps To Enter Hypnosis
Find a place in your home to relax. Lie down or sit in a comfortable position. Turn off the phone and dim the lights. Make this location your designated place to practice hypnosis.
Take a long slow breath and gently close your eyes. Begin to bring your breathing into a rhythmic and relaxed pattern similar to sleep breathing. Take a long slow cleansing breath from deep inside and let it out slowly. Be conscious of your breathing as your body becomes relaxed.
Consciously relax your face, relax all the little muscles around your mouth and eyes. Relax your jaw, neck and shoulders. Scan your entire body releasing any tension you are holding. Begin with your feet and proceed up your legs to your sexual organs and the base of your spine, releasing any tension you are holding in your muscles. Become aware of your baby resting or perhaps moving in response to your attention and enjoy the sense of connection and love you feel. Releasing tension as you go, move your attention over your stomach to your solar plexus, up to the heart & lungs. Feel any tension you are holding in your upper body drift way. Move your attention up into your throat and finally back into your head. Softly release any tension out into the universe. Your body will slowly drift into a relaxed and tranquil feeling of comfort.
Use the audio guidance of my hypnotic inductions. They provide images targeted to preparing for birth. Each track will repeat the above steps and then add the visual images, music and voice to draw you more deeply into hypnosis: The Garden, Waves of Labor or Confidence to Birth. They can be used together or separately. They will guide you step by step to engage the imagination and take you fully into the hypnotic state. (You may experience the images as something you see, as something you feel or as something you sense.)
Practice daily: by traversing this bridge into the alpha and theta brain waves, it becomes a familiar path you can travel easily. Like any skill, you get better over time. Once this path or link is woven into your psyche, you can return to it at any time and be transported instantly into the hypnotic state.
