Calm Birth is a unique mind-body medicine modality for childbirth which weaves together Tibetan Buddhist mindful meditation techniques with relaxation meditations developed at the University of Massachusetts Medical Center.

You will learn:

  • Practice of Opening - a progressive relaxation technique releasing into cellular life force.
  • Womb Breathing - based on classical Buddhist knowledge of the energy centers or chakras in the body, incorporating visualizations and a breathing technique that accesses the central psychic center for pain management and release of anxiety.
  • Giving and Receiving—the classic Buddhist healing meditation tonglen tailored for expectant mothers.
